Our Mission & Vision

The purpose of Grace Evangelical Free Church is to reach the world for Christ. The vision of our church is to glorify our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, to make true disciples throughout all the nations by means of missionary activity and support, to minister the ordinances, to edify believers, and to do all that is sovereignly possible and biblically permissible to magnify the name of Jesus.

Statement of Faith

We believe:

  • The Scriptures both Old and New Testaments, to be the verbally inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the Divine and final authority for Christian faith and life.  (Ref. II Pet. 1:20, 21; II Tim. 3:15-17)
  • In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  (Ref: Mt. 3:16-17; I Cor. 8:6; Eph. 4:4-6; I Jn. 5:7)
  • That Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.  He died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins according to Scriptures.  Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of God, He now is our High Priest and Advocate.  (Ref: Mt. 1:18-22, 28:1-6; Rom. 8:34; I Cor. 15:3-4; Heb. 7:24-27)
  • That the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and to seal the believer for the day of redemption.  During this age He convicts men, regenerates the believing sinner, indwells, guides, instructs and empowers the believer for godly living and service.  (Ref: Jn. 15:26, 16:7-11; I Cor. 6:19-20; Gal. 5:16-18; Eph. 4:30)
  • That man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin and is therefore lost and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit and acceptance of Jesus Christ can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. (Ref: Gen. 1:26; Jn. 3:36; Rom. 3:23, 5:12; Ti. 3:4-7)
  • That the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God.  (Ref: Jn. 3:16; Acts 4:12; I Jn. 5:10-13)
  • That water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the church during the present age.  They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation.  (Ref: Mt. 28:19, 20; Rom. 6:3-8; I Cor. 11:23-30)
  • That the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the head.  (Ref: I Cor. 12:12-14; Eph. 1:22-23, 5:23; Col. 1:18)
  • That only those who are thus members of the true Church shall be eligible for membership in the local church.  (Ref: Acts 2:42-47)
  • That Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church and that every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs.  (Ref: Acts 14:23, 15:1-12, 16:4; I Cor. 12:5-7)
  • In the personal pretribulational and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this “Blessed Hope” has a viatal bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.  (Ref: Mt. 24:29-31, 25:31; Jn. 14:3; Acts 1:11; I Cor. 15:51-58; I Tim. 4:1; Ti. 2:13)
  • In the bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, of the unbeliever to judgement and everlasting conscious punishment.  (Ref: I Thes. 2:19, 4:13-18; Rev. 20:4, 11-15)
  • In the security of the believer in Christ as a scriptural truth.  This is a security in which all true believers share, meaning once saved, they shall be kept saved forever in Christ.  (Ref: Jn. 5:24, 10:27-30, 11:25-26; Rom. 8:1-17, 38, 39; I Cor. 1:4-8; I Pet. 1:3-5)
